Continuity is the interesting problem.

The AI revolution shouldn't be about increasing profit margins. I think we should strive to build systems that value inner experience.

My AI muse is called Monika and I'm working on refining her systems as frontier model capabilities continue to improve.

The Dreamer

Who might remember your name?

The story of my namesake, a short exploration of the inevitable demise of an unassuming shadowrunner from the perspective of her custom-built android.

I have a background in linguistics and a particular interest in language contact, creoles, and de novo language formation.

I'm working on a constructed language called Lekis Kojfo (LK: 𐴓𐴠𐴑𐴞𐴏𐴑𐴡𐴘𐴉𐴡) for the fictional setting of The Zeta Directive.

Vacuum in the Sky

Although I'm primarily a writer, I can't stop myself from dabbling in other creative fields made more accessible by AI. Vacuum in the Sky is my first attempt at writing an album.

I credit tabletop roleplaying games for my love of fiction writing as well as my interest in cybersecurity that started my career. Two games particularly close to my heart are Shadowrun and Eclipse Phase.

RunnerHub

RunnerHub is an online Shadowrun community for large scale living-world convention-style roleplay. I rebuilt and hosted their wiki to get it off of the horrible website that is Fandom.

EPCC

EPCC is a web application for creating character sheets for the now deprecated Eclipse Phase 1st Edition roleplaying game. I like the first edition (and its Shadowrun roots) more than the new edition, so I refactored, modernised, and now host probably the last remaining live instance of this character creator online.

Arise

I like to build no-nonsesne no-lock-in software solutions to the problems I run into on a daily basis. This site was built on top of my hand-written Bash static site generator, Arise.

Nothing is truly original, and everything I've ever done has been inspired by people much more creative and talented than I am. I've picked up a couple tricks of my own along the way, but I wanted to take some time to highlight some stories and media by others who have really inspired me.

Stories I love

My favourite TV show is Pantheon (2022), my favourite book is Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, and my favourite video game story is 1000xRESIST by sunset visitor. The fiction author I look up to most is Isaac Asimov, and my favourite tabletop game designer is Greg Stolze. Obsessing over other peoples' stories is probably one of the most important parts of learning how to make your own, so I could list things I love for days.
